We all know about making decision when actually it’s near impossible make that decision. Might be however you choose, that decision will affect somebody you love. You might even think it’s slightly better that you hold off making the decision, because any decision will have negative impact. But holding off making decision is painful. You might be assured that making a certain choice will have far more better outcome, or in fact any of the available choices will be likewise. You keep asking yourselves and those around you, am I being selfish. Or just because something is what I like, […]
Uncertainty
Truth asserts, hurts or gives hope. Truth is something that remains the same irrespective of changing conditions – can I explain it that way? Of course, I should qualify that with a precondition or disclaimer that the statement remains valid within the ‘world’ that we live in, For example, 5 is a greater number than 4. The whole number / mathematical system is what humans invented to represent a kind of truth that remains valid within this world we live in. Following the uncertainty about the location of the departure station of the bus to the airport, I discovered that […]
This is a frequent bus service serving an airport. As you pass the stop you will either see one bus waiting there, or if none there, one will arrive very soon. Today, no bus. In the first branch, probably due to lack of staff available that time, the staff gave us a leaflet and instruction to call a central number. Given I had a more informed response in the third branch […]
Being confident is an essential part of your social skills. Writing something – forward – on new year’s eve probably calls for more confidence, with the whole year ahead of you. I cannot however be confident about something unless I have done the journey and seen the result, and making exactly the same journey again with the same conditions. Until then I can be assured of uncertainty, the less uncertain the better. Far from me to cast this opinion on others. Some 80 immobile individuals were uncharacteristically queuing to enter the tube today. People were certain of the queue as […]
